SEC calls on more local companies’ to get listed in stock market.

Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), Viraj Dayaratne PC (17) requested large companies, Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and startups to get listed in the Stock Market and raise funds.

He appealed to the large companies in Sri Lanka who have not yet listed, please come forward and list your companies in the Colombo Stock Exchange.

SEC needs to increase the depth and breadth of the market. So, your participation will ensure that. To the SME’s and startups, it is your turn as well. There is huge potential to raise the much-needed capital in the capital market and to the investors, both local and foreign come and invest, the valuations are great," Dayaratne PC said .

He was addressing the special market opening ceremony which was organized today to mark the Digitalization of the Sri Lankan Stock Market.

"The SEC believes in ensuring, that we have in place, a robust regulatory regime that can create confidence in the Stock Market and safeguard the interest of the investors, he said. .
