A delegation led by Pankaj Agarwal, Secratary to the Ministry of Power in India and Santosh Jha, High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka called on Sri Lankan Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

The delegation had engaged in talks with Sri Lankan officials on power sector cooperation between the two countries.

Sri Lankan Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera posted on X that, they discussed the policy plans, progress and timelines for the implementation of the proposed power grid interconnectivity, 130 MW Sampur Power Project, Jaffna Islands electrification project and other investments in Renewable Energy from Indian Investments.
