** China Sets Up Village Within Bhutan, 9 Km From Doklam Face-Off Site


The move is particularly worrying for India since it is responsible for the territorial integrity of Bhutan which mains a limited armed force.
New Delhi: China has established a village 2 km within Bhutan's territory, very close to Doklam where the Chinese and Indian militaries had a tense standoff in 2017, images posted by a senior journalist with the Chinese state media showed on Thursday.

**India Will Be Worst-Hit Among Major Economies Long After Covid: Report
HSBC Holdings Plc said India's potential growth could drop to 5% in the post-pandemic world from 6% on the eve of the outbreak and more than 7% before the global financial crisis.
Priyanka Kishore, head of economics for South Asia and South-East Asia, wrote in the report. She projects potential growth for India at 4.5% over the next five years, lower than 6.5% before the virus.

Ethiopia has said its forces are bearing down on the capital of Tigray region, in a two-week-old war that has killed hundreds and forced 30,000 refugees to flee into neighbouring Sudan.

** COVID vaccine could be distributed before end of year, says BioNTech CEO Ugur Sahin .
That's according to the director of BioNTech, the German laboratory that has been working with US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer to develop a vaccine.

 

Ugur Sahin told AFP news agency it was possible its vaccine could get authorisation and be distributed in the US and EU before 2021.
