Sri Lankan Airline’s special flight repatriates more passengers from Australia

SriLankan Airlines said that a special flight arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport today with over 280 passengers.

Most of the passengers were Sri Lankans who had sought to return to Colombo.All those who returned were to be sent to quarantine centers.

Over 38,983 Overseas Sri Lankans (OSLs) in 143 countries had sought to return home, based on information gathered mainly through the ‘Contact Sri Lanka’ Foreign Ministry revealed.

This comprises 3,078 students, 4,040 short term visa holders, 27,854 Migrant workers, 3527 dependants and 484 duel citizens and others.

SriLankan Airlines is now offering services to passengers who are eligible to travel under the respective country travel advisories to London, Tokyo (Narita)Melbourne and Hongkong and beyond.

The flights to London, Tokyo (Narita), Melbourne and Hong Kong will operate for both passengers and cargo.

Accordingly, passengers who wish to travel to these destinations or beyond can also now purchase their tickets through Sri Lankan Offices or through nearest travel agent.

Currently most governments are allowing travellers stranded overseas to return to their countries subject to stipulated validity of the respective travel documentation and periods of quarantine.

Commencing from 13th May SriLankan Airlines is now offering passengers to travel to London and beyond under this special travel scheme.
