Sri Lanka derives maximum power generation from all energy sources

Sri Lanka is working towards deriving maximum power generation from all spectrums of energy sources while minimizing the environmental impact it will cause.

Ceylon Electricity Board said an agreement will be signed on Tuesday (7th July), which will facilitate the addition of power generated through 38 small power plants, to the national grid.

“75 Megawatts will be added to the National Grid through this agreement,” Vijitha Herath, the Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board, said.

According to the CEB Chairman, this will provide a good opportunity to local entrepreneurs and will enable the CEB to obtain power generated through renewable sources.
