TNA accepts portfolios from SLMC

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) yesterday(18) confirmed they agreed to accept two ministerial portfolios and a deputy chairmanship of the Eastern Provincial Council(EPC), following the invitation by the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) officials.

Xinhua -Sri Lanka and India have signed an agreement granting diplomats and government officials from both sides visa-free access and stay for up to 30 days, Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry sources said on Monday.

Ranil Wickremesinghe, the Prime Minister said the Anti-Corruption Secretariat will investigate, large scale corruption and malpractices alleged to have taken place during the previous government in a very comprehensive manner and take legal action against those responsible at the earliest.

The Defence Ministry denied that measures were underway to appoint a new Army Chief, which were published in various websites regrding the appoinment of a new Army commander.

Hemaka Amarasuriya, Chairman of Singer (Sri Lanka) Plc has been appointed Chairman of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd. with effect from 13 February 2015.
