Paris, Wednesday: Football legend Pele was taken to a Paris hospital as a precaution on Wednesday after suffering from an “infection” but is “doing well”, according to members of his entourage.

SLC slaps US$7,500 fine on Karunaratne

Sri Lanka Cricket has slapped a fine of US$ 7,500 equivalent to one Test match fee on Sri Lanka cricketer Dimuth Karunaratne for violation of player contract for drunk driving leading to an accident where his car was involved in a crash with a three-wheeler.

Sri Lanka Cricket will invest Rs. 63 million to conduct the Super Provincial One-Day tournament which will be used as the criterion for selection to the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England. The tournament will be held from April 4-11.

Dimuth granted bail

Sri Lanka Test Cricket captain Dimuth Karunaratne, who was arrested over a drunk driving incident resulting in an accident was released on Police bail yesterday.
