(Un) Thread (2024); A dance work premiering in Sri Lanka at the Lotus Room, BMICH on the 16th and 17th of March’2024.

Inspired to create performances that provide knowledge, interaction, futuristic possibilities and provoke thoughts that engage critically with the public through movement, (Un) Thread is the latest work by Umeshi Rajeendra, choreographer and dance artist. Since 2013, Umeshi’s artistic and academic pursuits address social-cultural-economic solidarity particularly through the production of sold-out original work. She believes that dance is a mode of critical inquiry and enjoys works in collaboration with performers, sound artists, writers, and designers from across the artworld.

The performance will be premiering in Sri Lanka for the very first time and funds raised will support the scholarship fund of MeshGround, a Platform for Movement Arts, that aims to make dance and education accessible for all.
