Association President Harshana Rukshan told the Daily Mirror that the price of a plate of rice and curry, fried rice and kottu will be reduced by Rs. 25. The price of short eats, paratha and egg roti will be reduced by Rs. 10 and a cup of plain tea will be reduced by Rs. 5.
The association requests that complaints be made to the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) if the new prices are not followed or displayed.
Additionally, the Association has urged the government to implement price controls on Keeri Samba rice, Samba rice, eggs and chicken. If the government does so, the association promises an additional 25 percent price reduction for consumers.
