Reissuance of bonds under DDO postponed Featured

The re-issuance of bonds under the domestic debt optimization program scheduled for August 28 has been postponed to September 11, said State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe.

The decision was made due to an ongoing court procedure over the amendment of the Inland Revenue Act.

A proposal was made to re-issue bonds issued by the government at an interest rate of 9% under the domestic debt optimization program, and that process was set to begin today.

In the meantime, concerns are also being raised that this might affect the Employees Provident Fund.
