Speaking at the Polonnaruwa District Convention of the Retired Tri-Forces Forum, NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said if the claims made by the Magistrate that he had death threats and therefore left the country were true, it is a serious situation.

"If the claims made by the Magistrate are true, where are we as a country? If a magistrate has to face death threats just because he gave a ruling that is not partial to the government, it is a serious situation. If the claims made by the Magistrate are not true, an investigation should be conducted to ascertain the conspiracy behind it," he said.
