PickMe denies claims of major data breach of customers Featured

PickMe, a Sri Lankan taxi hailing and delivery service, has denied allegations of a major data breach.

There were reports that PickMe data including phone numbers had been leaked.

The ‘ReadMe’ website had reported that around 1.8 million emails, 2.8 million unique phone numbers, and around 1.4 million hashed passwords and other sensitive information such as credit card details had been leaked.

“We want to address recent allegations of a data breach. We categorically deny these claims and assure our commitment to data security. We never store credit card info – it’s tokenized for safety. We’ve upgraded to SMS OTP login for enhanced security,” PickMe said on X (previously known as Twitter).
