Customs officers continue their work to rule campaign Featured

The Union of Customs Officers has announced that their trade union action, involving the withdrawal from overtime services, will continue for the fourth consecutive day today.

Amila Sanjeeva, the union’s president, cited the lack of satisfactory solutions from the authorities as the reason for the ongoing action.

Simultaneously, Sanath Manjula, Chairman of the Container Transport Owners Association highlighted the impact of the customs unions’ professional measures. A significant number of containers have been held in the port inspection yards due to these actions.

Last Friday, multiple customs unions collectively decided to withdraw from overtime services, initiating a union action.
