Chargé d’ Affaires of the Embassy of China in Sri Lanka Zhu Yanwei met Acting Inspector General of Police, Senior Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Priyantha Weerasooriya and discussed the recent arrests.

The Sri Lanka Police said that China’s assistance was sought to translate some of the content on the computers seized from the Chinese as it was in Mandarin.

Over the past few weeks a number of Chinese and Indians have been arrested over the scam.
