Russian flight arrives at BIA to pick up Muthu Raja

A Russian cargo plane arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) last night to take back the elephant Muthu Raja which was donated by Thailand to Sri Lanka, the Airport Duty Officer said.

This flight, EZS 5701, arrived at the airport at 11.30 p.m. from Moscow, Russia.

The elephant is scheduled to leave the Dehiwala Zoo for Katunayake Airport at midnight today.

This Russian cargo flight carrying Muthu Raja is scheduled to depart from BIA at 3 a.m. tomorrow for Bangkok, Thailand.
