BMICH corruption accused CEO retires before receiving the charge sheet Featured

Sri Lanka’s world renowned Chinese guilt Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) Board has faced gets a black mark for forgery and corruption charges against some of its top officials.

The BMICH Management has recently requested its Director and CEO Sunil Dissanayake to step down from his post in light of several irregularities.

However in a personal message to the BMICH staff, Dissanayake says he has retired after 50 years in the hospitality industry.

His message also lists several unprecedented achievements during his tenure as Director/CEO since May 2015. According to sources, allegations have been directed at both Dissanayake and another female staffer within the BMICH management.

As a result, the board of management has requested Dissanayake to step down from his position pending further action. In his message to BMICH staff, Dissanayake stated that with him reaching the retirement age on 6 May. 2023, he tendered the resignation effective 31 July 2023.
