Chongqing Airlines resumes direct flights from China to Colombo Featured

Chongqing Airlines today resumed direct nonstop flights from Chongqing, China to Colombo, the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited (AASL) said.

The flight was welcomed with a celebratory water cannon salute upon arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

The inaugural flight from Chongqing to Colombo, OQ2393 arrived at 2:50 p.m. with 78 passengers.

The passengers were warmly welcomed by a traditional Kandyan dance performance sponsored by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and they were presented with gift packs of tea sponsored by the Sri Lanka Tea Board.

Three weekly flights will be operated between Chongqing and Colombo while Acorn Aviation (Private) Limited is the General Sales Agent (GSA) for Chongqing Airlines in Sri Lanka
