The Kollupitiya Police had earlier obtained a travel ban against Yaddehige from the Fort Magistrate over the allegation. An official from the Kollupitiya Police said that there has been no update regarding the Chairman's whereabouts, and he will be arrested upon his arrival due to the travel ban.

A 39-year-old woman, a Colombo resident, complained in May, claiming she was sexually abused by the Chairman on May 7 at a star-class hotel in Kollupitiya.

The complainant, who had been working online as a business analyst for at least a month while Yaddehige was overseas, reported that on May 6, the company informed her that the Chairman had returned to Sri Lanka and wanted to meet her on May 7
