Walisinghe Harishchandra Memorial Museum was established in 13th September 1996 to commemorate Brahmachari Walisinghe Harishchandra Esqr who has done a unique service to our country. He was born in 6th July 1876 in the house named “Mahagedara” at Mahahunupitiya, Katana and the museum has been established in this house. Furniture, books and diaries used by Brahmachari Walisinghe Harishchandra Esqr have been exhibited in the museum.
