Fast reviving Sri Lanka has been listed as the fourth-most popular destination for solo travellers in 2024 by Forbes.
Forbes pointed out that the island nation gives visitors a chance to experience a major travel trend: slow travel by train.
As quoted by Forbes, Thompson of Flash Pack said, “After tumultuous few years, Sri Lanka has made a big comeback and its iconic upcountry train routes are a major part of its appeal.”
He added that with more U.S. travellers adding to an uptick in interest from the U.K. travellers this year, 2024 would be the moment when it all comes together and Sri Lanka once again rules the travel charts for slow, immersive adventure.
The top three destinations for solo travel recognised by Forbes are Japan, Argentina and Egypt.
